Please make sure you read the terms and conditions and privacy policy carefully before providing any personal information on a website or service operated by another organization, as we do not accept any responsibility or liability for the websites or services of other organizations.
The Services, including our offer wall, may link to third-party websites, online services, or mobile applications and/or contain advertisements from third parties that are not affiliated with us and which may link to other websites, services, or applications. Accordingly, we do not make any guarantee regarding any such third parties, and we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of such third-party websites, services, or applications. Information is collected automatically, from third-party sources, and provided directly by you.
Personal Information Automatically Collected
In Short: Some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics is collected automatically when you visit our Services.
We and/or our trusted partners (i.e. school, career, higher education, and financial-aid services, businesses, and content providers) may automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring Uniform Resource Locators (“URLs”), device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

- Log and Usage Data.
Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services and which we record in log files. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the Services. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that tells us your current location (based on your IP address). We may share your geolocation with service providers to improve our Services. You can opt out of allowing us to collect this information either by refusing access to the information at the in-app Privacy Controls Settings or by disabling your Location setting on your device. However, if you choose to opt-out, you may not be able to use certain aspects of the Services.
- Preferences and Engagement with our emails, text messages, push notifications, and online messages.
- Collection of Contacts Information. With your consent, we collect contact details from your phone and social networks when you choose to invite or share with others. This includes names, phone numbers, email addresses from your phone contacts, and public profile information along with names and profiles of your social network contacts.
- Data Minimization (relevant under Maryland new laws): We strive to collect only the personal information that is reasonably necessary and proportionate to provide or maintain the requested product or service, or as otherwise permitted by law.
- Details from interactions with our support services, like contact dates, chat transcripts, call details, and phone numbers.

- When allowed by law and with your consent, we and our partners may automatically collect information about your device, browser, and activities on our Properties. This data may be gathered over time across different sites and apps by our business partners, using cookies and similar tracking technologies.
- Links to our pages on social media platforms. By interacting with our social media pages, you are subject to the respective platform's privacy policy. This may involve the sharing of your information such as name, profile, photos, and engagement activities (like reactions and comments) with us. Any information received through these platforms is processed according to this Privacy Policy and the platform’s privacy regulations.

To enhance our ability to provide relevant marketing, offers, and Services to you and update our records, we may obtain information about you from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners, affiliate programs, data providers, social media platforms, and from other third parties. This information includes mailing addresses, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, intent data (or user behavior data), IP addresses, social media profiles, social media URLs, and custom profiles, for purposes of targeted advertising and event promotion. If you interact with us on a social media platform using your social media account (e.g., Facebook or X ), we receive personal information about you such as your name, email address, and gender. Any personal information that we collect from your social media account depends on your social media account's privacy settings.

GoGira! Site Visitor:
If you access or interact with the GoGira! websites, apps, or platforms without registering for a GoGira! account, logging into an existing account, or revealing your association with a GoGira! account, you are considered a "GoGira! Site Visitor." This includes instances where you browse our Services or access content without engaging directly, or without utilizing our Services.
- Identifiers. When you contact us through our support services, contact form, or email, we collect details like your name, contact dates, chat transcripts, phone number, email address, and any additional information or details you provide, including feedback, reviews, and comments.
- Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information:

- Protected Classification Characteristics under California or Federal Law. In compliance with California and federal law, we collect certain protected characteristics such as your age, gender identity, marital status, military status, residency, income level, ethnicity, religion, and philosophical preferences.
- California Customer Records Personal Information We collect information as defined by the California Customer Records provisions, including your name, address, telephone number, and the last four digits of your payment number. This information is used for processing subscription purchases and may overlap with other data categories.
- When you register an account, we may collect basic account student information including name, communication preferences, email address, addresses, phone numbers, date of birth, educational status and plans, gender, ethnicity, permissions, mailing addresses, job titles, usernames, contact preferences, contact or authentication data, grade or educational level, parent and guardian information.
- When creating a student profile, we may collect additional details beyond your basic student information including profile statuses, academic status, residency status, avatar, financial status, references, resumes, portfolios, and any uploaded content, feedback, service interactions, preferences, and responses to forms.
- Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases or subscriptions, such as your payment instrument (e.g., credit card) and billing information.
Parent or Guardian:
- Identifiers. When you contact us through our support services, contact form, or email, we collect details like your name, contact dates, chat transcripts, phone number, email address, and any additional information or details you provide, including feedback, reviews, and comments.
- Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we may process the following categories of sensitive information including information revealing race or ethnic origin, information revealing religious or philosophical beliefs, student data, and financial data.
- California Customer Records Personal Information We collect information as defined by the California Customer Records provisions, including your name, address, telephone number, and the last four digits of your payment number. - When you register an account, we collect your relationship to the student, your email address, phone number, and permissions; and basic account student information including name, communication preferences, email address, addresses, phone numbers, date of birth, educational status and plans, gender, ethnicity, permissions, mailing addresses, job titles, contact preferences, contact or authentication data, grade or educational level, parent and guardian information.
- When accessing or supporting a student profile, we may collect additional details beyond your student’s basic information including academic status, residency status, avatar, financial status, references, resumes, portfolios, and any uploaded content, feedback, service interactions and preferences, or responses to forms.
- Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases or subscriptions, such as your payment instrument (e.g., credit card) and billing information.
Higher Education Personnel:
- Identifiers. When you contact us through our support services, contact form, or email, we collect details like your name, contact dates, chat transcripts, phone number, email address, and any additional information or details you provide, including feedback, reviews, and comments.
- California Customer Records Personal InformationWe collect information as defined by the California Customer Records provisions, including your name, address, telephone number, and the last four digits of your payment number. This information is used for processing subscription purchases and may overlap with other data categories.
- Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases or subscriptions, such as your payment instrument (e.g., credit card) and billing information.
When you register an account to use GoGira! to review student profiles and identify possible connections or matches for your higher education entity, we collect verifiable institutional information, higher education associations, names, email addresses, contacts, business addresses, phone numbers, titles, roles, permissions, identification or authentication data.
Partner Professionals and Counselors:
Partner Professionals and Counselors include tutors, school counselors, higher education, career, and financial-aid-related services, and/or content providers are users who have registered on GoGira! to connect, match, and/or recruit students to their services. They access GoGira! and/or websites when logged into their accounts. If you represent a trusted Partner Professional on GoGira!, we may gather and show information related to your organization's activities. This might include your entity's name, which could incorporate your name and a publicly available professional address and description of Services. Additionally, we may collect and display information about your professional background that you choose to share with us through the Service. This could include details about your professional licenses or certifications, as well as your professional history or specialties.
- Identifiers. When you contact us through our support services, contact form, or email, we collect details like your name, contact dates, chat transcripts, phone number, email address, and any additional information or details you provide, including feedback, reviews, and comments.
- California Customer Records Personal Information. We collect information as defined by the California Customer Records provisions, including your name, address, telephone number, and the last four digits of your payment number. This information is used for processing subscription purchases and may overlap with other data categories.
- Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we may collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases or subscriptions, such as your payment instrument (e.g., credit card) and billing information.
- When you register an account to use GoGira! to review student profiles and identify possible connections or matches for your partner entity we collect verifiable entity information, professional associations, names, email addresses, contacts, business addresses, phone numbers, titles, roles, permissions, identification or authentication data.

If a student invites you to submit a reference on their behalf, we collect the following personal information from you:
- Identifiers. When you contact us through our support services, contact form, or email, we collect details like your name, contact dates, chat transcripts, email address, Position/Title, Institution or Organization, and any additional information or details you provide, including feedback, reviews, and comments.
- California Customer Records Personal Information. We collect information as defined by the California Customer Records provisions, including your name and email address. This information is used for processing references and may overlap with other data categories.
- Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we may process the following categories of sensitive information including information revealing student reference reviews, feedback, and data.
Affiliates:
An Affiliate is a business, individual, or entity applying to or participating in the GoGira! Affiliate Program or that displays GoGira! Services and/or promotions on an Affiliate Site, or other means, using an affiliate tracking code in exchange for receiving commission from GoGira! for sales directly resulting from such promotions.
- Identifiers. When you apply or register to become a GoGira! affiliate, we collect details like your name, website, social media URLs, title/role, contact dates, chat transcripts, and email address, business information such as business/entity name, industry, audience, entity tax information, and any additional information or details you provide, including background information, feedback, reviews, and comments.
- California Customer Records Personal Information We collect information as defined by the California Customer Records provisions, including your name, phone, address, identification, and email address. This information is used for processing references and may overlap with other data categories.
- Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information including tax identification, driver’s license, state or government ID cards, financial banking account information, credit card number, background information, geolocation, and identification or authentication data.
5. Processing Your Information

- For communication and to request feedback. We may process your information when necessary to request feedback, contact you, monitor interactions, and/or communicate with you or facilitate communication between you and our partners and/or affiliates.
- Marketing, targeted advertising, and campaign effectiveness. We and our educational and career, higher education, and financial-aid-related service partners utilize your personal information for marketing aligned with your preferences, offering the option to opt out of marketing emails. Your information also guides personalized advertising based on interests and location. Additionally, we analyze this data to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of our marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Research, analytics, and usage trends. We use aggregated data from various sources for research to improve our Services. By analyzing how you use our Services, we and our service providers/partners gain insights that help us enhance functionality and user experience.
- Security, legal compliance, and service protection. We use your personal data for security purposes, including preventing fraud and illegal activities, complying with legal requirements, and fulfilling internal operational needs. Our efforts include enhancing security measures, fraud prevention, and upholding our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. - Affiliates. We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this privacy notice. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
- Business Partners. With your consent, we may share your information with our trusted higher education, career, and financial-aid-related partners to offer you certain products, services, or promotions.
- Service Providers We may share your information with third-party vendors, consultants, and other service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as customer support, data analytics, and marketing assistance.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights.
- Offer Wall. Our application(s) may display a third-party hosted "offer wall." Such an offer wall allows third-party advertisers to offer virtual currency, gifts, or other items to users in return for the acceptance and completion of an advertisement offer. Such an offer wall may appear in our application(s) and be displayed to you based on certain data, such as your geographic area or demographic information. When you click on an offer wall, you will be brought to an external website belonging to other persons and will leave our application(s). A unique identifier, such as your user ID, will be shared with the offer wall provider to prevent fraud and properly credit your account with the relevant reward.
Mobile Information and SMS Communications. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. We will not share your mobile information—including your mobile phone number and any related data—with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share your mobile information solely with trusted subcontractors and service providers to support our services, such as facilitating customer service interactions and user service connections. Your text messaging originator opt-in data and consent information will not be shared with any third parties, except as necessary to deliver our services or as required by law.

9. How We Handle Your Social Logins
In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our Services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.
Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Facebook or Instagram logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. 10. International Data Transfers
Our Services may connect or match you with higher education, careers, and financial aid personnel, partners, and entities around the world. To make that possible, we may collect your personal information from, transfer it to, and store and process it in the United States or other countries outside of where you live. Whenever we share information outside of where you live, we ensure safeguards are in place to protect the data as required by law where you live. Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing our Services from outside, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us in our facilities and by those third parties with whom we may share your personal information.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws or other similar laws as comprehensive as those in your country. European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses:
We have implemented measures to protect your personal information, including by using the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information between our group companies and between us and our third-party providers. 11. GoGira! Data Retention
In Short: GoGira! retains your personal information for as long as needed to provide our Services, for research, data analysis, or other legitimate business reasons to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us to keep your personal information for longer than the period in which users have an account with us.
User data is held for the duration of your GoGira! account to improve our Services. However, data deletion may be delayed in certain cases due to legal, financial, and partnership requirements or obligations. Users can initiate data deletion by removing their GoGira! account via account settings. Once requested, data is marked for deletion and purged from active systems, until deletion is possible.
12. How We Keep Your Information Safe
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
13. Privacy Controls and Rights on GoGira!
In Short: We prioritize your control over personal information. Our settings offer various options to manage your data, including access to our data download tool and guidelines for deleting data or your account.
- Access and Updating Your Information on our Services: Access and update your basic account details by navigating to account settings.
- Student Profile Visibility and Contact: During account creation, you can decide who sees your student profile and contacts you within the Services community. Adjust these settings anytime in account settings. Please be aware that this may limit our ability to provide you with specific Services.
- Sharing Tools: Our tools allow you to share content and elements within our Services. Sharing outside the Services community is entirely user-directed and can be done at any time.
- FERPA Rights and Reference Confidentiality: Under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, you have the right to access your school records, including Fast-Track References submitted to GoGira! about you. However, FERPA also allows you to waive this right for confidentiality, potentially enhancing the authenticity of the references. We advise discussing with your reference providers about their policies on FERPA waivers. If you're under 18, consult with a parent or guardian. - Managing Communication Preferences: You can modify your communication settings at any time within the Services community by accessing Account Settings for Email, Text Messages, and Notifications.
- Download Your Data: Use our 'Download My Data' tool to obtain your information in a portable format, allowing you to easily transfer or store it as needed.
- Deleting Your Information: To delete your account, simply visit Account Settings and select the deletion option.
- California Residents’ Privacy Choices: If you're in California, you can restrict how we use your Sensitive Personal Information, including precise geolocation, through the Privacy Settings in your Account Settings.
- Opt-Out of Sales and Targeted Advertising: If you reside in a state that provides rights to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information or the use of your data for targeted advertising, you may disable cookies as noted in the Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies section or email Support@GoGira.com. We also honor opt-out preference signals when required by state law.

Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information

Verification process
Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person with whom we have the information in our system. These verification efforts require us to ask you to provide information so that we can match it with the information you have previously provided us. For instance, depending on the type of request you submit, we may ask you to provide certain information so that we can match the information you provide with the information we already have on file, or we may contact you through a communication method (e.g., phone or email) that you have previously provided to us. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate.
We will only use the personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. To the extent possible, we will avoid requesting additional information from you for verification. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information to verify your identity and for security or fraud prevention purposes. We will delete such additional information as soon as we finish verifying you.
Other privacy rights
- You may object to the processing of your personal information.
- You may request correction of your personal data if it is incorrect or no longer relevant, or ask to restrict the processing of the information.
- You can designate an authorized agent to request the CCPA on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent who does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with the CCPA.

Financial Incentive(s)

A business must be able to explain how the financial incentive or price or service difference is reasonably related to the value of the consumer’s data. The explanation must include:

Verification process
We may request that you provide additional information reasonably necessary to verify you and your consumer's request. If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request.
Upon receiving your request, we will respond without undue delay, but in all cases, within forty-five (45) days of receipt. The response period may be extended once by forty-five (45) additional days when reasonably necessary. We will inform you of any such extension within the initial 45-day response period, together with the reason for the extension.
Right to appeal
If we decline to take action regarding your request, we will inform you of our decision and the reasoning behind it. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email us at Support@GoGira.com. Within sixty (60) days of receipt of an appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the Attorney General to submit a complaint.
Florida, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, Delaware, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Maryland Residents
